Scott Guise York PA Obituary, Death: Longtime Sports Information Director Scott Guise died of cancer

York College is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Scott Guise, the College’s Director of Athletic Communications, who dedicated 30 years of service to Spartan athletics. Scott joined York College in 1995 and spent three decades telling the stories of student-athletes, coaches, and teams, leaving an indelible mark on the College community.

Scott was known for his precision, humility, and genuine love for his work. He documented the College’s most defining athletic moments, including the men’s basketball team’s 2005 Final Four run, but he never overlooked the small victories.

Countless student-athletes remember the encouragement Scott offered, whether it was after a remarkable play or a hard-fought game. His support went far beyond professional duty—he cared deeply for every individual he worked with.

“Scott’s connection to all things Spartan—especially our student-athletes and staff—extended far beyond his professional role,” said Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation Paul Saikia. “He didn’t just tell our story; he was a part of it. Scott will always hold a special place in our York College Athletics family.”

Even in recent years, while facing significant medical challenges, Scott remained a steady presence at athletic events. Whether behind a camera, on a headset, or on his laptop, he continued to serve the College with unwavering dedication.

In recognition of his perseverance and service, Scott was named the 2025 recipient of the Middle Atlantic Conference Giant Steps Award. Scott’s impact extended far beyond games and statistics.

He embodied kindness, calm leadership, and devotion, setting a standard that inspired colleagues and student-athletes alike. York College extends its deepest condolences to Scott’s family and all whose lives he touched. His legacy will continue to shine in every Spartan story he helped tell.

A moment of silence will be observed at the men’s and women’s basketball home games and the New Standard Invitational for wrestling on Saturday, December 6, honoring Scott Guise’s life and lasting impact.
