The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) mourns the loss of Correctional Officer Marcus Monzon, who passed away on Dec. 3, 2025. Officer Monzon began his career in April 2024 at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center in Galt and later served at California State Prison-Sacramento (CSP-SAC).
Though his time with the department was brief, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues for his dedication, professionalism, and kindness. Officer Monzon will be deeply missed by everyone who worked with him.
